A Level company - serving Jamaica, NY

DuraFlex Chimney Repair Nationwide

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

How DuraFlex Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

DuraFlex makes solid liners and venting components, but no liner lasts forever. Here’s what we actually see on Jamaica jobs:

  • DuraFlex 316L liner pitting at the flue cap seam. The thin stainless at the top of a 316L liner is the first place rain and condensation meet. Once pitting starts, water creeps down into the insulation and the liner loses draft. We cut the damaged section, weld or clamp a new segment, and reset the cap so it’s not sitting in standing water.
  • DuraFlex Pro liner joint separation after a chimney fire or aggressive cleaning. The Pro series uses a stiffer metal that can ungulate at the seam if the liner was pulled hard during installation or the chimney shifted. You’ll see a vertical soot streak on the outside of the liner at the one joint that’s pulled apart. We re-seat the joint, band it, and re-anchor the liner so it stays put.
  • Corrosion around the tee connection on wood-burning setups. The tee body takes the hottest flue gas and the most water. We see this most often in Jamaica row houses near Jamaica Avenue where the flue runs short and the appliance fires hotter. The fix is a new tee body, not a patch, and we keep OEM-spec DuraFlex tee bodies on the truck.
  • Warped flue cap or crown on older DuraFlex Al29-4C liners. The Al29-4C line is more tolerant of condensation, but the cap and masonry crown above it fail first and stop protecting the liner. We inspect the crown and cap on every DuraFlex job because that’s usually the root cause of liner damage, not the liner metal itself.
  • Liner baffle collapse in DuraFlex gas venting systems. Where a DuraFlex gas vent runs through a tall chase, the inner baffle can fold under repeated thermal cycling. The symptom is a whistle on startup and a lazy flame look. We remove the collapsed baffle and re-sleeve the top section, then re-test for draft and CO at the appliance.

Our DuraFlex Chimney Repair Process

Our DuraFlex Chimney Repair Process
  1. 1
Call and book. We schedule a Level 2 camera inspection, and you get a text with the tech’s name and when they’re on the way.
  2. 2
Camera down the flue. We record the condition of the DuraFlex liner from the cap to the appliance, plus the masonry, crown, and flashing. Clause 4 of the Haven Standard means you get the photos and footage on every visit, not just when something breaks.
  3. 3
We show you what we saw. We walk you through the footage and point to the exact damage. You make the call based on what’s on the screen, not a pitch.
  4. 4
Written price before work starts. We write the scope, the parts source (OEM-spec DuraFlex where available, quality aftermarket where it’s a better fit), the price, and the warranty. You sign it only if you agree to it.
  5. 5
The repair and the test. We do the repair, then run a draft test and a CO check at the appliance. We show you the photo record of the finished work.
  6. 6
Written record when it’s done. You leave with the full file: before photos, after photos, draft readings, work order, and warranty. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies.

Why Jamaica Homeowners Call Level Two Chimney Jamaica for DuraFlex Work

Why Jamaica Homeowners Call Level Two Chimney Jamaica for DuraFlex Work

We’ve been running camera-scan inspections as standard practice since 2009, and the archive practice that built that habit became Clause 4 of the Haven Standard. What that buys you on a DuraFlex repair is a tech who knows where these liners fail before the camera even goes down, and a written price before anything gets touched. We service HeatShield and Gelco liners as well, so when a DuraFlex liner is beyond saving, we can tell you honestly and show you the options. Corrine Halstead, our owner, grew up in Queens and has run inspections and cleanings across Jamaica for nearly two decades. She knows the older row houses near Jamaica Avenue and how flue work there is rarely what the seller’s disclosure claims. The camera doesn’t negotiate - it just shows what’s there.
