Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Jamaica Team Behind Level Two Chimney Jamaica
Level Two Chimney Jamaica runs on a simple idea: the person who answers your call should know as much about your flue as the person standing in your living room. Our Jamaica crew is small on purpose, trained to the Haven Standard, and led by Corrine Halstead, Owner. Most of the team has worked chimneys across Queens and Nassau for over a decade. They know the difference between a 1920s brick fireplace in Jamaica Estates and a 1980s prefab in Rochdale Village. That local knowledge matters when a sweep turns into a liner consult.
Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has run lead on chimney sweeps and inspections in Jamaica for 14 years. He holds an NFPA 211 Level 2 camera inspection certification and has personally performed over 6,000 cleanings in Queens alone. His specialty is diagnosing glazed Class III creosote, the hardened, tar-like buildup that brushes won’t remove and that can fuel a chimney fire. Off the ladder, Marcus is a serious chess player and will absolutely talk your ear off about the 1986 Karpov-Kasparov match if you let him.
Elena R. – Senior Installer
Elena leads our liner and rebuild work, with 11 years installing stainless steel flue liners from DuraFlex and HeatShield. She’s the one who spots spalling brick, which is brick that flakes and crumbles as moisture freezes and thaws through Jamaica winters, before it becomes a structural problem. Elena did her apprenticeship on century-old row houses in South Jamaica and can tell you the original brickyard of half the chimneys she sees. She keeps a small garden in her backyard and brings peppers to the shop from July through September.
Denise W. – Service Coordinator
Denise is the voice you’ll likely hear first. She’s been answering Level Two Chimney Jamaica phones for 8 years and still takes every call live, 24/7, no voicemail. Her job is to know what a job needs before the truck rolls: fireplace or furnace flue, oil or gas, sweep or structural. She coordinates the written price, the written scope, and the written warranty before anyone touches your chimney, because that’s Clause 1 of the Haven Standard and she treats it like gospel. Denise has two rescue dogs and a running streak of over 900 consecutive days.
Andre B. – Apprentice
Andre joined us three years ago after working winter construction and deciding he wanted a trade with a roof over his head. He’s learning the full sweep protocol under Marcus, including camera runs and creosote classification. His current focus is crown work: assessing cracked chimney crowns, the concrete slab that seals the top of your chimney, and learning when a repair sealant from Gelco beats a full crown recast. Andre grew up in Jamaica and knows the neighborhood blocks better than our GPS. He’s also the reason the shop coffee is always decent.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard isn’t a training video we watched once. It binds every Level Two location across New York to the same promises, and our Jamaica crew enforces it daily. Clause 4 requires a documented photo record on every visit, and we hand that to you whether the job took 45 minutes or two days. Clause 1 requires a written price, written scope, and written warranty before work starts. That means no one on our team starts a single job without paperwork in your hands first. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every chimney we touch in Jamaica. If a sweep doesn’t happen or a cap doesn’t seat right, we return and make it right. The crew knows the standard because they helped build it, and Corrine signs off on it personally. Our technicians are background-checked and uniformed. Their license information is on every page and every service ticket. The names above are the actual people you’ll meet at your door in Jamaica, and they’re the reason we can promise the same result on a 1920s fixer-upper in Hillcrest that we deliver on a 2000s colonial by Baisley Pond.
